Purpose of the Foundation

The purpose of the foundation, in accordance with the relevant legal regulations, is both within the country and abroad to:

Without disregarding the principles found in the main sources of Islam; to generate knowledge, ideas, and values for humanity through an interdisciplinary approach and scientific methods that view the human being, society, and the universe as an integrated whole.

To build the foundations of a moral, dignified, and virtuous society that remains open to the positive developments of the age while guided by national, spiritual, and historical values.

To raise and support the growth of individuals who value the rights and privileges of society above their own; who are conscious of their servanthood to God; who lead the world rather than being led by it; who admire their past and are taken as examples by future generations; who see serving God and humanity not as a burden but as an honor; who stand firm against injustice and oppression yet consider bowing before truth the greatest dignity; who may lose everything but never their faith; who are devoted to their sacred values, loyal, honorable, reputable, courteous, and selfless; who work not only for their own personal development but also for the advancement of society; who believe that poverty is no obstacle to being human; who transform their faith into action; who avoid extremism and follow the middle path; and who—with their politeness, eloquence, grace, sensitivity, empathy, warmth, style, and refined demeanor as ladies and gentlemen—can be held up as examples among people, showing consistency between words and deeds, feeling humanity’s pain as their own, thinking, questioning, and producing ideas and values.

To engage with influential individuals from all religions and ethnic backgrounds on common ground, conducting scientific research, studies, analyses, and syntheses addressing the sociocultural problems of all humanity, in order to develop realistic and effective solutions and share these solutions with the public.

To bring together people from around the world with diverse views and perspectives around the shared interests of humanity, and to deliver all necessary humanitarian aid — without any discrimination of religion, language, race, gender, or any other kind — to anyone in need of protection and assistance anywhere on earth.

To take necessary initiatives and actions to promote mutual assistance and solidarity among oppressed, victimized, and needy individuals and families, in order to prevent violations of people’s natural and fundamental rights and freedoms — including their rights to dignity, justice, education, and natural law — and to remove the economic, social, psychological, legal, cultural, religious, and moral obstacles that conflict with these principles.

To heal the social wounds of victims of natural disasters, wars, and all those in need around the world, and to provide for their material and spiritual needs in the fields of education, health, livelihood, food supply, social welfare, economy, art, and culture.

To raise social awareness for “social orphans” — children who, though not literally orphaned, live in poor conditions due to inadequate nutrition, improper housing, and a lack of parental love and care — and to provide them with the necessary physical and psychological support.

To achieve this purpose, a foundation named “Hilf al-Fudul Foundation” has been established both within and outside the United States of America.
