Our Values & Ethical Principles
SINCERITY AND DEVOTION
This foundation embodies many principles in which ethical values are primarily associated with sincerity (ikhlas). Concepts such as sincerity, honesty, integrity, and justice are among the core principles of the Hilf al-Fudul Foundation. The history of the foundation clearly demonstrates the power of sincerity and devotion. Its origins lie in a genuine initiative aimed at helping those who suffered injustice. The foundation was established through the coming together of individuals driven by pure intentions, with the goal of achieving social justice. For it is those who act with sincerity and serve with genuine devotion who have always led the way for positive transformation in every aspect of society.
UNITY
Being united reflects the core mission of our foundation and the spirit of solidarity among communities. The foundation encourages people to come together and form a strong sense of unity, providing support to all segments of society through this collective strength. The value of unity embodies the idea of embracing differences and acting together for the common good of all humanity. The Hilf al-Fudul Foundation brings people together by eliminating all forms of division and encourages cohesion around shared values. This spirit of unity empowers individuals to be more effective and impactful in helping every part of society. Moreover, through the strength that comes from togetherness, the foundation aims to create greater and more lasting change. By acting in unity, it develops more effective solutions to social problems and delivers broader support to those in need.
Consultation
Consultation is a method of dialogue and cooperation in which all relevant parties share their ideas to reach a common decision. Our foundation embraces this principle throughout its activities. A continuous environment of communication and consultation is maintained among the foundation’s leaders, staff, and members. This ensures that during the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the foundation’s services and projects, everyone’s opinions are taken into account. Listening to all viewpoints and reaching collective consensus allows the foundation to achieve its goals more effectively. Through consultation, diverse perspectives are utilized, leading to stronger and more balanced decisions. The Hilf al-Fudul Foundation strengthens the culture of consultation by encouraging the participation of individuals representing different segments of society. In this way, the foundation’s activities are shaped in alignment with the true needs of the community and gain broader public support.
BUILDING BRIDGES BETWEEN COMMUNITIES
Our foundation not only provides aid to those in need but also promotes solidarity, tolerance, and mutual respect among different cultures, religions, and ethnic groups. By building bridges between communities, it helps people understand one another better. The foundation encourages diverse communities to come together and collaborate, celebrating the richness of their differences. It works for the common good of humanity and contributes to building a stronger and more united future together.
TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY
As the Hilf al-Fudul Foundation, we are fully aware of our responsibilities toward society and have made it our principle to conduct and share our activities and decision-making processes openly and honestly. Our foundation’s mission and vision are clearly defined and publicly shared. Being transparent about our goals and objectives strengthens public trust and helps people understand the purpose of our existence. We also maintain full transparency in our financial matters, clearly reporting how our resources are managed and utilized. By regularly sharing our income and expenses with the public, we reinforce the trust of our donors and the communities we serve. Transparency is also central to our decision-making process. We inform the public about which projects are selected and how they are funded. In this way, we encourage community participation and ensure that our foundation continues to act in alignment with the real needs of society.
DUTY AND RESPONSIBILITY
Based on the Qur’anic principle, “Eat and drink, but do not be wasteful; indeed, Allah does not love the wasteful” (Surah Al-A‘raf, 31), the foundation aims to use every entrusted resource in the most effective and responsible way. Acting with the consciousness of stewardship, it strives to prevent the unnecessary use of wealth, time, and other resources, thereby providing greater support to those in need. Through this approach, the foundation seeks to extend its helping hand to a wider audience and create a positive impact within society. Furthermore, in carrying out its activities, it acts with full awareness that every action is recorded and that it bears accountability before both God and people. It never betrays what has been entrusted to it.
